A billboard was purchased by a well-funded group organized on Facebook with out-of-state ties. The message isn’t new and represents another example of how our critics misunderstand and underestimate the people in our church. We all know that churches everywhere experience an ebb and flow of people coming and going, because those people find a new church family or because they abandon the faith. We are thrilled to have our fellowship, and we believe that a billboard is unnecessary to point out that everyone has the freedom to remain or leave. We remain committed to teaching biblical values, and encouraging people to live by those values even if it’s hard and requires sacrifice in our increasingly secular world.
