Adult/Student Liaisons

Dwell has developed a liaison program to help improve communication and strengthen relationships between student ministry leaders and Adult Ministry. Liaisons represent both student and adult ministry, providing resources to promote unity between these two ministries and a pathway to resolve disagreements. Our goal is to preserve the unity of Christ's community, while benefiting families and supporting our ministries.

We view improving communication and strengthening trust between these two ministries as one of the most important things Dwell can do as a church. As in other churches, it can be challenging to achieve the unity that the Bible says all members of the Body of Christ should enjoy. The liaison program is guided by some primary biblical principles:

  • God has called us to be unified– We are one church.
Ephesians 4:3 "being diligent to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you also were called in one hope of your calling"
  • Satan is always looking for weakness to exploit: God’s enemy uses communication issues in an attempt to disrupt the powerful work of God. We see this as an area to fortify in anticipation of Satan’s schemes.
1 Peter 5:8 "Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour."
  • Disunity will hamper Dwell’s future, while unity will help it: Countless movements have been upended by a lack of willingness within groups of people to work together and to address concerns. We are optimistic about where God is taking our church and are committed to defending the unity of our fellowship by fighting to preserve the peace that Christ gives us.
Galatians 5:14 "For the whole law can be summed up in this one command: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ But if you are always biting and devouring one another, watch out! Beware of destroying one another."
