Dwell Prepares for Community Festival

The Dwell Community Festival returns this year on Saturday, September 18th. The event runs from 3:00-10:00 pm at Dwell’s Main Campus.

The festival features live music, games for kids, and other fun activities. There’ll be smoked and grilled food and a beer truck (with wine also available this year) as well as craft vendors and booths for community organizations.

Dwell Hospitality Director Phil Franck says the event will be similar to 2019’s successful inaugural festival, which drew over 2500 people. He says they learned from that event and are making some improvements for this year. They hope to fix food line congestion, moving to a ticket-based system for food, beer and wine, and games. They’re also adding Wipeout to the popular physical challenge games.

Phil says the festival offers much needed fellowship for our church, especially after the isolation of 2020, and offers a chance to reach out to the community, which has the same need to connect with others.

Admission is free, and food, drinks, and games are offered at affordable prices, making it attractive to people in the community. Invite your friends, family, and neighbors--it’s a great way to introduce them to the Dwell’s spirit of hospitality and grace. It’s a family-friendly event with fun for all ages. The festival features music from bands who regularly perform at clubs and festivals in Ohio.  The Ohio State football game will be shown indoors on the big screen during the festival.

Be a part of making this year’s festival a success! Organizers need volunteers now for the weeks leading up to the event. If you’re available, contact Sherri Fojas at FojasS@dwellcc.org. There’ll be a portal set up soon to volunteer for needs closer to the time of the festival.

The festival will happen rain or shine, but please join us in praying for great weather to make the event more inviting for guests!
