YFC Wheels Automotive Trade Center

YFC Wheels began in 2005 as a program to help at-risk youth in Franklinton learn basic automotive skills. Many students did well and learned the skills, but also thrived from the individual input from staff and volunteers who worked side-by-side with them.

In 2017 Luke Walker, owner of Luke’s Auto and a certified mechanic, took over the training program and brought new and innovative ideas to the training. The program was also re-branded as Equip Skills Center. In 2019, Luke and his team added an Intermediate and Advanced class for students who want to pursue auto mechanics as a career.

The Equip Skills Center is in need of volunteers to help transport students to/from class and teach the basic auto repair classes. If you're interested in volunteering, visit the website at https://www.equipskillscenter.com/. Equip is a Youth for Christ ministry.
