Your donations to Dwell’s Disaster Relief Fund are making a real difference in the lives of people in need around the world. Recently Dwell received a special thank-you note from a house church leader in Ethiopia. He was desperate to feed his family, and received a vital gift from his church, made possible by a $30,000 relief contribution from Dwell this spring.
His encouraging thank-you note is in the picture. Here’s a translation:
My name is Awok. I have a wife and two kids. Jesus is my Lord. I co-lead a home church in Northern Wollo. Ever since the war last year life has been a struggle. I lost my job. Last month I spent my last dime buying food for my family and I had no idea where I was going to earn anything to feed my family. I do any small job I can find. Me and my family were praying to God for provision. I was delighted to find out my church was ready to assist us with some food items. I received 100kg of Teff, 10 liters of cooking oil, 25kg of shero (pea powder with spice used to make a paste), 25kg of powdered flour. This will feed my family for at least two months. God has answered my family’s prayer and provided for us. I would like to thank you, Aklilu (Lou), and everyone in America who are generous enough to contribute to this effort. Praise the Lord for brothers and sisters in Christ who are able to help us in this time of need.
