Côte d'Ivoire

Together with our Global Partners in Côte d'Ivoire, we seek to reach unreached people groups of Côte d'Ivoire through strategic house church planting. Effective witness for Christ is taking root in Côte d'Ivoire. To date, our partners have planted hundreds of house churches, involving thousands of members. This rapid expansion of the gospel shows the openness of Côte d'Ivoire and the effectiveness of house church planting among this population.

Our partners have set up four training centers in strategic cities. From these staging grounds, many church planters have been trained and mobilized. These centers offer continuing education for church planters and close supervision of their work in the villages.

Two civil wars in the past 15 years have left Côte d'Ivoire in grinding poverty and deep spiritual need. In the second civil war, ending in 2011, insurgents targeted Christian pastors and 160 were killed. A network of volunteer-led house churches, because of a lack of visibility, could endure turbulent social conditions. This realization led to a series of meetings at Dwell where it became apparent the Lord was bringing us together for a church planting partnership. Dwell is committed to ongoing training of church planters and meeting the financial needs to mobilize them. We will also seek ways to address poverty in these communities.
